Igbos can cry all they like, various police checkpoints in South East won’t be dismantled – Police IG Adamu

Mohammed Adamu, the Inspector-General of Police, has revealed why the Force maintains an enormous variety of checkpoints within the South-East.

The IG who spoke in response to journalists query during his monthly convention with senior Police officers in Abuja on Monday.

Responding to a query in regards to the big variety of Police checkpoints within the South-East, the IG acknowledged that the checkpoints have been meant to deal with the safety problem within the area, noting that they might not be dismantled.

In his word: “The checkpoints were based on the security assessment in the zone, and they would not be removed, for now,” he explained.
