FG Condemns Cameroonian govt over deportation of 40, 000 Nigerian IDPs Over Buhari’s Victory

The federal government has referred to the deportation of 40,000 Nigerian Boko Haram victims by Cameroon as sad and regrettable. The federal government said that it had earlier appealed to the Francophone nation not to chase away the affected persons, but to no avail.

It said that appropriate steps will be taken in response to the development In reaction to the Cameroonian government’s deportation of 40,000 Nigerian Boko Haram victims from Borno who were taking refuge in the Francophone nation, the federal government has said that the act is regrettable and sad.

Sadiya Farouq, the commissioner for National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), in her statement on Tuesday, March 5, said that the federal government had appealed to Cameroon not chase out the victims who fled from the Rann area of the state, but to no avail, The Nation reports.
