Doyin Okupe, once an aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan, wants a confirmation to claim by Ebonyi governor, Dave Umahi, that he engages in anti-party politics
– Okupe wants the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to investigate Umahi over the claim
– The former presidential aide promises to forward his petition to the headquarters of the PDP
Doyin Okupe, a former senior special assistant on public affairs to Goodluck Jonathan as president of Nigeria, has vowed to forward the claim by Ebonyi governor, Dave Umahi, that he is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The governor had reportedly said: “Stay in one place. Don’t run from here to there and from there to here. E no make sense. If you say you dey there (APC), know I am already there. If you go to APC, I am an APC member. If you go to PDP, I am there.”
The governor said he was the only person that engages in anti-party activities with no consequences.
He said though in PDP, he represents the people in the APC.
In his reaction, Okupe said there was a need for the governor to confirm the information.
He also urged the PDP to commence investigation into Umahi’s claim.
“The PDP must quickly investigate and confirm this for the sake of integrity and reputation of the party and discipline within its rank and file.
“Personally, I am forwarding this to the national chairman and the national publicity secretary of the party,” he vowed.
