The Presidential candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar will on Saturday return to Nigeria from his short trip to the United States, Maiyegun Diary learnt.
Atiku, alongside Senate President and Director General of his campaign, Dr Bukola Saraki, Osita Chidoka, an aide to Bukola Saraki, Bankole Omisore and others are currently in the US where Atiku will address Nigerians, US Chamber of commerce and attend to other engagement with US top government functionaries.
His US trip has caused a lot of ripples within the ruling APC, because he has been publicly called out to enter the US, hinging that around some corruption allegations where his name was mentioned, his political ambition took a “quick shine” when he eventually landed in the US on Thursday Afternoon putting an end to the speculation that he dare not enter America.
Nigerians and others around the world are keenly waiting to behold a spectacular view of the Presidential Debate tomorrow, it is not clear if President Muhammadu Buhari will honour the debate.
Atiku has used several occasions to challenge Buhari to be brave enough to encounter him at the Presidential Debate, but information available to Maiyegun Media suggests that, Buhari’s senior aides may have advised him to stay away due to his recent ill-fated performance at the #NGCandidate interview session organized a few days ago by the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA).
