2019 Elections: Unknown Gunmen Kidnapped 2 Lawyers In Rivers

Gunmen have kidnapped two lawyers in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The lawyers, John Joseph, the All Progressives Congress (APC) leader at Ward 8 in Emohua Local Government and another simply identified as Barrister Stephenson were reportedly abducted at Iloabuchi, Mile 1 Diobu in Port Harcourt City Local Government.

A source close to one of the victims confirmed the incident to reporters in Port Harcourt yesterday.

He said the victims were returning from a political meeting at the Government Reservation Area (GRA) when they were ambushed and abducted.

The source, who preferred anonymity, said bloodstains were found in their car, which was later recovered behind the Rivers State University, by police officers attached to Iloabuchi Division.

A relation of one of the victims, simply identified as Joseph, said the kidnappers were yet to contact them.

He appealed to the abductors to free the lawyers.

Police spokesman Nnamdi Omoni could not confirm the kidnap last night.
